Writing it down!!!

When the world around you seems so right and all you see are people moving, achieving succeeding and writing their names in the sand of times, one begin to wonder, where have I gone wrong? Seriously I asked myself this question many times and each time I come to one conclusion, l did not put in much effort. Truth be told, successful people live a life of practice and patience. They live a life of consistencies doing-and –learning daily.

It’s not in the number of people you know, or the degree you have, but rather in your ability and willingness to bend down and persevere   in doing the right thing over- and over again. So what is that thing you need to do?  For me, I want to be a writer and be VERY good at it. Okay, don’t laugh please, writing is not easy, trust me! To put pen to paper may appear simple but getting the picture vividly out and for others to read and comprehend what is in your head is lots of hard work.

Initially, when I read articles or books  l wonder at the easy life writers live, just “writing” and getting paid,  but I must admit now I know better. When l see a wonderful piece crafting put together that appeal to all scene and make you reflect and see through the eyes of the writer, I can but say a silent prayer for the writer and to God who is indeed a writer.

So my journey to the writing world begins here! The let world be the stage am set to perform!

So what? Am I woman and better

Why do most  men talk down on women? I mean why do I have to prove 150% that am better than my male colleague only because am a woman?

Seriously this is getting to me, I recently head a team and all I get from my  team-mate  (Am the only female on the team) is we know it better than you attitude, and do they serious know it better? NO! But would they be 'man' enough to learn from me, I don’t think so.

Now they choose to work late, I will definitely not subscribe to that, I take my working hours seriously and will only stay after office hours when its important considering also that major reporting lines are Office and Home; office 9am-5pm and to my hubby from 5pm to 8am (get my drift?)

Oh, don’t even think am just seating and wishing nahhhh, am not that nice, I always go of what is mine and crossing the line or my territory is not fun for my culprit. They will have to learn the hard way the stage is set, let see who dance best..

I have often hear the slogan "the road to success is hard and if your are a woman, its much harder", here is my friend share portion on her way becoming a senior manager.

Though she had been briefed me how her VP want her back flat on the office table cause she is "just too good on her job" and when she stood her ground, he seem to considered her move as very silly to which she taught was the end of his asking. But when it was appraiser time this quater, he grab it or how else can one explain this.She was called to review the appraiser with her boss and the following went down.

Boss: So we meet again....how about we review your last quarter appraiser together.

MF; every well sir

Boss: Did u think you meet your target last quarter?

MF: I think I did 70% sir!!

Boss: then did u agree to my comment that there is need for improvement.

MF:yes sir

Boss: and in my opinion you are due for promotion this year?

MF: Yes

Boss: so, what do you say if you help me to help you?

MF: How so Sir,

Boss: Why not let discuss this appraiser thing after close of wok and find our way around it? say I give you room to think about my proposer (smiling sheepishly)

MF: Sir, I have concluded on that. My stand still remain the same. But if the justification you write is what you know I earn , I will sign it.


And as if, the power that  be are just watching him to have a change of heart. My friend boss was fired the very same day before "close of work".

So today, we all hang out to celebrate the down fall of yet another women oppressor. Am so happy that I defy the hold-up on my way home tp have a women down time with me-ladies. We all had a laugh-attack as she narrate how the event take a down turn change, same day in the twinkle of an eye.

Yeahhhhh, the only way to the top is hard work, skill, and His grace.
